Seis personas murieron y al menos 15 resultaron heridas en un violento ataque armado perpetrado la noche del domingo 12 de octubre en el suroeste de Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Según los primeros reportes de la Policía, el hecho ocurrió en las calles 22 y Cristóbal Colón del distrito Portete, durante un campeonato de fútbol barrial al que asistían unas 150 personas. Sicarios encapuchados llegaron en dos vehículos y una tricimoto, desde los cuales abrieron fuego indiscriminadamente. Se registraron unos 85 disparos.
Dos de los fallecidos fueron identificados: Óscar Leonardo González Lindao (30 años) y Pastor Enrique Veloz Cáceres (48 años). Los otros cuatro cuerpos permanecen aún sin identificar. Entre los heridos hay dos adolescentes de 14 y 16 años, así como un niño de 6 años, quienes presentan impactos de bala en piernas, costillas y tobillos.
Las autoridades recogieron en el sitio del suceso múltiples casquillos de fusil y pistola —47 del calibre 9 mm y 38 del calibre 2,23 mm—, además de piezas de tela que podrían pertenecer a los atacantes.
La Policía maneja como hipótesis un ajuste de cuentas entre bandas delictivas por el control del microtráfico en la zona, señalando a la organización “Freddy Krueger” como presunta responsable. Hasta el momento hay dos detenidos vinculados al ataque.
Este episodio se suma a una ola creciente de violencia en Ecuador, donde a pesar de la política de mano dura adoptada por el gobierno, los homicidios han continuado en aumento durante 2025.
