El Instituto Distrital de Protección y Bienestar Animal (IDPYBA) habilitó tres estands institucionales en la feria Expopet 2026 para impulsar la adopción de 101 perros y gatos este miércoles 12 de agosto de 2026. La iniciativa se desarrollará en el centro de convenciones Corferias del 13 al 17 de agosto bajo el lema ‘Adoptar es Amar sin Condiciones’. Por consiguiente, la administración distrital desplegará un equipo técnico para orientar a las familias en la incorporación responsable de una nueva mascota.
El IDPYBA dispondrá de atención al público entre las 10:00 a. m. y las 8:00 p. m. en tres puntos estratégicos del recinto ferial, mientras los trámites de adopción operarán de 12:00 m. a 6:00 p. m. Los visitantes encontrarán el estand de adopciones en el pabellón 3, el estand principal con asesoría jurídica y emprendimientos en el pabellón 8, y una carpa informativa frente al pabellón 4. Asimismo, la entidad activó un formulario de preinscripción en línea para agilizar los tiempos de validación de los adoptantes antes de acudir al evento.

Las familias que concreten la adopción recibirán un acompañamiento especializado del IDPYBA para facilitar la adaptación del perro o gato en su nuevo hogar. Las familias adoptantes obtendrán además un kit con servicios veterinarios, obsequios de marcas aliadas y entradas gratuitas a la feria. De igual manera, la agenda académica del IDPYBA incluye charlas pedagógicas en la pista de actividades y una jornada dedicada a caninos de manejo especial.
La programación especial destaca la ‘Tarde de Pitbulls’, prevista para el sábado 15 de agosto a las 4:00 p. m. en el espacio Pet Arena. Durante la jornada, profesionales de la Unidad de Cuidado Animal expondrán recomendaciones sobre comportamiento, bienestar y convivencia responsable con estas razas. Por esta razón, el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible promueve estas iniciativas territoriales para fortalecer la tenencia responsable y reducir el abandono animal en las principales ciudades.
