Una delegación del Carnaval de Negros y Blancos de Pasto viajará este domingo **15 de marzo a Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, para participar en el Desfile Nacional de Carnaval de ese país, en un intercambio cultural que ha fortalecido los lazos entre manifestaciones festivas de Colombia y el Caribe.
La participación forma parte de un proceso de hermanamiento cultural que se ha desarrollado durante los últimos tres años entre los carnavales de ambos países, impulsado por Corpocarnaval de Pasto y el Ministerio de Cultura de República Dominicana.
Durante los primeros meses de 2026, varios artistas del tradicional carnaval pastuso ya participaron en actividades festivas en República Dominicana, como el Carnaval de Punta Cana y el Carnaval Vegano, llevando al público caribeño expresiones creativas del patrimonio cultural de Nariño.
Para el desfile en Santo Domingo, la delegación estará integrada por agrupaciones destacadas como la Murga de Metales y Maderas, el colectivo Nueva Integración y el maestro Ricardo Maigual en la categoría de disfraz individual, quienes mostrarán aspectos emblemáticos del trabajo artístico del carnaval.
Paralelamente, un grupo del Colectivo Coreográfico Amaru y otros artistas locales fueron contratados para crear un carro alegórico que también participará en el desfile en San Francisco de Macorís, ampliando la presencia nariñense en esta fiesta caribeña.
Este intercambio cultural, que nació gracias al contacto establecido por un jurado internacional del Carnaval de Pasto, ha consolidado no solo la difusión del arte y las tradiciones de Nariño, sino también oportunidades de colaboración artística entre Colombia y República Dominicana.
