Tribunal Superior fijó el 21 de octubre la lectura en segunda instancia del proceso contra Álvaro Uribe.
El próximo martes 21 de octubre, a las 8:00 a.m., el Tribunal Superior de Bogotá dará lectura al fallo de segunda instancia sobre la condena impuesta al expresidente, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, por los delitos de soborno en la actuación penal y fraude procesal.
La lectura definirá si se ratifica, modifica o revoca la sentencia y se abre una nueva etapa procesal ante la Corte Suprema de Justicia.
La defensa del expresidente Uribe, encabezada por los abogados Jaime Granados y Jaime Lombana, evalúa ajustes estratégicos ante una eventual confirmación del fallo. En este escenario, el jurista Mauricio Pava Lugo, asesor del presidente Gustavo Petro y actual abogado de víctimas, podría sumarse a la defensa del exmandatario en la fase de casación.
Fuentes judiciales explicaron que la etapa de casación podría extenderse entre tres y cinco años, debido al volumen probatorio y a las implicaciones institucionales del caso, considerado por analistas como “el juicio más importante de la historia reciente de Colombia”.
En primera instancia, la jueza Sandra Liliana Heredia condenó a Uribe Vélez a 12 años de prisión domiciliaria por considerarlo responsable de los delitos de fraude procesal y soborno en actuación penal.
La magistrada determinó que el expresidente concibió un «plan criminal» para que exparamilitares acusaran falsamente al senador Iván Cepeda de ofrecer beneficios a cambio de testimonios en su contra.
De ratificarse la condena, Uribe Vélez se convertiría en el primer expresidente de Colombia en ser condenado penalmente, un hecho sin precedentes en la historia judicial del país que marcaría un hito en el sistema de justicia colombiano.
