La IPS NP Medical S.A.S. anunció el cierre de los servicios que presta a los afiliados de Famisanar EPS y Asmet Salud EPS, argumentando que ambas entidades mantienen una cartera vencida superior a los 14.000 millones de pesos, situación que, según la institución, pone en riesgo la continuidad de la atención y la estabilidad financiera de la entidad.
De acuerdo con las comunicaciones enviadas por la IPS, la deuda de Famisanar supera los 10.920 millones de pesos, mientras que Asmet Salud adeuda más de 3.202 millones de pesos. La suma de ambas obligaciones motivó la decisión de suspender la prestación de servicios para los usuarios de estas EPS.
NP Medical explicó que la falta de pagos ha generado dificultades financieras que comprometen la sostenibilidad de su operación, afectando especialmente los programas de salud mental y atención a personas con farmacodependencia, cuyos tratamientos requieren continuidad y seguimiento permanente. La institución advirtió que la escasez de recursos dificulta cubrir gastos esenciales como el pago del personal, la adquisición de medicamentos e insumos y el funcionamiento de la infraestructura asistencial.
La IPS también alertó que esta situación podría tener consecuencias tanto para los pacientes como para sus trabajadores, en un contexto de creciente preocupación por la crisis financiera que enfrenta el sistema de salud colombiano.
