En desarrollo de la estrategia institucional «Plan Cazador» y en el marco de la operación «Zafiro», la Policía Nacional, a través del Grupo de Acción Unificada por la Libertad Personal, Gaula en el departamento del Putumayo, logró la captura en flagrancia de un hombre por el delito de extorsión en el municipio de Mocoa, cuando recibía 10 millones de pesos, producto de exigencias económicas realizadas bajo amenazas de muerte contra un comerciante de la región.
El procedimiento se llevó a cabo en el momento exacto en que el presunto delincuente recibía la suma de $10’000.000, dinero exigido a la víctima a cambio de no atentar contra su vida e integridad física.
Las investigaciones permitieron establecer que el capturado, al parecer, suplantaba la identidad de un integrante de un Grupo Armado Organizado residual de las disidencias de las FARC, utilizando esta falsa condición para generar temor entre sus víctimas. De igual forma, presuntamente se atribuía la responsabilidad del homicidio múltiple registrado el 22 de abril de 2026 en Mocoa, donde perdieron la vida cinco personas, con el propósito de fortalecer sus amenazas y ejercer mayor presión sobre el comerciante.
De acuerdo con el proceso investigativo, la víctima venía siendo objeto de exigencias económicas superiores a los $20’000.000, de las cuales ya habría realizado un primer pago por $500.000, mientras continuaban las intimidaciones para obligarlo a entregar el resto del dinero.
Con este resultado, la Policía Nacional continúa fortaleciendo las acciones operativas para combatir los delitos que afectan la tranquilidad de la ciudadanía, reafirmando su compromiso con la convivencia y la seguridad en el departamento del Putumayo.
