Miles de jóvenes deportistas de todo el país ya están llegando al Valle del Cauca para competir en las justas más importantes del deporte escolar colombiano entre el 20 de octubre y el 8 de noviembre.
Cali y Palmira calientan motores para recibir a las delegaciones que participarán en la fase final de los Juegos Intercolegiados 2025, el programa insignia del deporte escolar en Colombia. Desde el 20 de octubre hasta el 8 de noviembre, 7.000 niñas, niños y jóvenes de todas las regiones del país se darán cita para representar a sus departamentos e instituciones educativas en 29 modalidades deportivas, 26 deportes convencionales y 3 Para deportes, en encuentros llenos de talento, sueños y sana competencia.
La ministra del Deporte, Patricia Duque, destacó la importancia de este evento para la formación integral de niños, niñas y jóvenes. «Los Juegos Intercolegiados son una muestra del esfuerzo, la disciplina y la pasión de miles de jóvenes que representan el presente y el futuro del deporte de este país. Desde el Gobierno Nacional nos comprometemos a seguir trabajando por escenarios dignos, acompañamiento y oportunidades para que los jóvenes deportistas sigan creciendo y viendo buenas oportunidades a través del deporte».
Los competidores prejuveniles que se consagren ganadores en la fase final de estas justas tendrán el honor de representar a Colombia en los VII Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe que se llevarán a cabo en la ciudad de Montería y Cereté, Córdoba.
El evento final de estos juegos llega tras el exitoso cierre de la fase regional, que se desarrolló cumpliendo con el cronograma establecido en ocho municipios del país. En esta etapa, las sedes oficiales fueron Riohacha, Dibulla, Lorica, Cereté, Nobsa, Melgar, Buga, Apartadó, Villavicencio y Puerto Carreño, donde los deportistas demostraron su talento y compromiso en busca de un cupo en la gran final nacional.
El Gobierno Nacional, a través del Ministerio del Deporte, realizó una inversión superior a 50 mil millones de pesos para el calendario 2025, garantizando la logística, la adecuación de escenarios y el acompañamiento técnico y humano necesario para el desarrollo de estas competencias que están por comenzar.
